A crackdown on drivers stopping in yellow box junctions could see numerous locations across Kent armed with cameras ready to dish out fines.
The county council has launched a public consultation on the proposed new enforcement measures, which bosses say are being considered in response to widespread abuse of the traffic regulations.
It is a road traffic offence to enter a yellow box when the exit is not clear - and flouting the rules can result in fines of £70.
The 12 sites earmarked for automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras include six in Maidstone, two at the Dartford Crossing and one each in Ashford, Canterbury, Dover and Thanet.
