A Ray Township man whose criminal acts are blamed on drug abuse that his attorney said stemmed in part from being wounded during a shoot-out was sentenced to three years probation, initially with admission to a substance-abuse rehabilitation center once a bed is available.
Daniele Giannone, 40, received the sentence last week from Macomb County Circuit Judge Kathryn Viviano after pleading guilty last month to two counts of fleeing police, resisting arrest and two low-level drug charges for his three contacts with police this year on Macomb County roads.
The three incidents took place over a four-month period from last March to April while he was driving on roads in Harrison Township, Mount Clemens and Shelby or Macomb townships. He was charge
