Neither man convicted of posing as DTE Energy workers to rob and kill a Metro Detroit pawn shop owner spoke in their own defense before an Oakland County judge on Tuesday called them “absolutely pathetic” and sentenced them to life in prison.

“I hope whatever those last words he said to you, or whatever the last moment he looks at you, haunts you for the rest of your life,” Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Yasmine Poles said to Joshua Zuazo and Carlos Hernandez during their sentencing in Oakland Circuit Court. “One breath of Mr. Murray’s life doesn’t amount to one ounce of your dignity or worth. How dare you.”
