STAMFORD, CT (WFSB) - A man who shot and killed himself in Stamford was in the process of being evicted, according to the Office of the Inspector General.

Jed Parkington, 63, was involved with a standoff beforehand, inspector general Eliot Prescott said in his report.

The incident began at 9 a.m. on Dec. 2 at a home on Oaklawn Avenue.

“A Connecticut State Marshal arrived at a residence located at 263 Oaklawn Ave. to evict the homeowners following the foreclosure of their mortgage,” Prescott said.

The marshal reportedly encountered Parkington’s wife and dog in the driveway.

They walked to the back of the home where Parkington told the marshal to take his wife someplace safe because “this is not going to end well.”
