The wheels are in motion for a Saskatoon judge to hear arguments in the case of two former cops who are fighting to get their jobs back.
Saskatoon police constables Dylan Kemp and Jason Garland were fired on Sept. 3 after an investigation related to an off-duty house party. They are disputing their dismissals.
The catch is that their lawyer, Steven Seiferling, did not file their appeal notice with the Saskatchewan Police Commission in the time window allotted for appeals.
Now, he's trying to get a King's Bench judge to tell the police commission to designate a hearing officer. On Dec. 9, Seiferling appeared before Justice Natasha Crooks, along with lawyers for the province and Saskatoon police.
Crooks adjourned the matter until Jan. 23 so that police and the Ministry and Correctio
