NEWARK - Height and unit reduction in a new building proposal for 81-83 Hawkins St. in Newark’s Ironbound – a rebranding of a project that was turned down by the Zoning Board two years ago – was not enough to persuade the board that the project deserves to be heard again.
The Newark Zoning Board of Adjustment held a res judicata hearing – a legal doctrine preventing the same parties from re-litigating claims or issues already decided by a final court judgment – for 81-83 Hawkins Street LLC on Thursday, Dec. 4.
