NEWARK - A five-hour remand hearing on the largest redevelopment project ever in Newark’s low-rise Ironbound neighborhood ended Monday night without a final decision.
The Newark Central Planning Board voted to continue the review after extensive legal discussion , expert testimony, and significant community input.
The remand, which included cross-examination of Iberia II Realty Urban Renewal LLC’s professionals and presentation of an opposition case was far from over by 11 p.m. on Monday when it ended by ordinance. The Central Planning Board ultimately decided to continue the discussion at a future date.
The board will pin down a date for part two of the remand hearing at its next meeting on Dec. 15.
