ROME, Ga. — A couple is in custody after a woman's body was found Tuesday afternoon in Rome.
Rome Police Public Information Officer Kelly Madden said investigators are still working to learn how the 20-year-old woman died, but they do know she was not shot.
Madden said the woman is not from Rome or Floyd County. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Officers said they were called to John Graham Homes where the body was found outside, covered with blankets. This is near Hull Avenue and Cedar Avenue.
Witnesses told Rome Police they spotted a red car in the area around the time the body was discovered. The car was located and eventually stopped about 20 miles away on Highway 411 by Floyd County Police following a pursuit, according to Rome officers.
