LEXINGTON, Ky. ( WKYT /Gray News) - At least one person is dead and multiple people are injured after a shooting on Kentucky State University’s campus Tuesday.

The Frankfort Police Department said it responded to an “active aggressor” on KSU’s campus at about 3:35 p.m.

A university official confirmed to WKYT that a shooting happened in the area of south campus.

Frankfort police report that a suspect is in custody, but the school is on lock down until further notice.

A university official told WKYT that multiple people were injured. Their conditions have not been confirmed, but at least one is in critical condition.

Kentucky Gov. Beshear said he was aware of the shooting and is working to learn more information.
