HAYTI, Mo. (KFVS) - Pemiscot Memorial Hospital will soon offer 24-hour emergency care after receiving Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) status.
Hospital CEO Brittany Osborne said the new status is a great opportunity to serve the community further.
“Being able to be open 24/7 and provide that care to the community is a big deal for the hospital,” Osborne said. “We want what’s best for the people in our counties.”
Osborne and administrative director Loren Clifton said the hospital came close to shutting down before state leaders offered the opportunity to change operations.
“It’s been a long six-month process, but we kept the doors open,” Clifton said. “It’s been just us three, and we’re ready to provide care to the community for years to come.”
