SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - It was a frigid morning with record breaking cold. The temperature at Westover Air Reserve Base got down to -3°, breaking the daily record low for December 9th of +1°, set back in 1989.
Sunshine gave way to afternoon clouds and tonight will stay cloudy so it will not be nearly as cold as last night with temperatures staying in the 20’s. A weak system may bring us a few flurries or perhaps a passing snow shower, most stay dry.
A second clipper system moves through Wednesday afternoon. This clipper has more moisture but it will drag in slightly milder air, bringing temperatures into the middle and upper 30’s in the afternoon.
The morning will remain dry with snow and rain moving in around lunch-time. The valley will see a rainy mix for most of the afternoo
