One person was injured in a two vehicle auto accident that occurred shortly after 7:00 on Tuesday evening at the intersection of Highway 36 and Farm to Market Road 1408 east of Jasper.

Firemen from both the East End and Jasper Fire Departments were dispatched to the location and arrived to find a late model Chevrolet sedan and an early model Chevrolet pick up truck had collided severely damaging both vehicles and scattering pieces of wreckage all over the road.

What happened is not known and at last word State Troopers were investigating the incident and no names or additional information has been released.

Highway 63 remained closed at the intersection for time as emergency personnel tended to the injured and cleared the wreckage from the roadway and traffic was detoured by way of FM-1
