SAUGUS, Mass. —
At the Kowloon in Saugus it's not only a tradition, it's a mission to help those in need across Massachusetts during the holiday season in a big way.
The restaurant's annual toy drive, featuring the "Wall of Toys," draws hundreds of volunteers, elected officials, and even New England sports icons.
The spectacle has grown so big that the North Shore icon barely has enough space for it.
"We don't even have enough room in the middle of the room anymore," said State Senator Sal DiDomenico Jr. "Now we have to put them all around the sides, on the walls, in the hallway."
DiDomenico is the driving force behind the Christmas phenomenon.
The Wong family, owners of the Kowloon, play host and feed everyone. The Boston Bruins foundation have even joined the team in recent years.
