SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Woodbury County Supervisors have chosen the winning bid for the demolition of the old Woodbury County Law Enforcement Center in downtown Sioux City.
The county board accepted the bid from Lieber Construction, of North Sioux City, for $518,418.18.
The Lieber bid was actually the second lowest bid for the project after Spiritas Wrecking Company, based out of Missouri. However, Spiritas didn’t properly file the paperwork with the county, so that bid was thrown out and the project was awarded to the next lowest bid, Lieber Construction.
Even though the Lieber Construction bid will cost around $20,000 more than the Spiritas bid, it still comes well under the county’s original $1.1 million estimate for the project.
