MOUNT POCONO, Pa. — President Donald Trump said that a National Guard member who survived a shooting in downtown DC got out of bed on Tuesday.

“Today I got a call that he got up from bed. Do you believe that? He got up. He got up,” Trump said.

According to the president, Wolfe has yet to speak.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe and U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, were both shot near Farragut Square metro station, just blocks from the White House.

Beckstrom succumbed to her injuries.

Trump said, Beckstrom is "looking at us from heaven, from above.”

A 29-year-old Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who had aided CIA operations during the American occupation, is in custody in connection with the shootings.
