'Misuse' of a Blue Badge is considered a crime
Brits who use Blue Badges, whether behind the wheel or as passengers, are being urged to remember a three-month regulation that could potentially leave them without valid documentation. Disabled parking permits, commonly referred to as Blue Badges, enable people facing mobility challenges or living with disabilities to access parking with greater ease.
According to the Daily Record , recent figures from the Department for Transport and Transport Scotland reveal that upwards of 3.2 million Blue Badge holders exist throughout England and Scotland. Eligibility criteria for Blue Badges were extended in 2019 to include those with non-visible disabilities such as Parkinson's disease, dementia and epilepsy, allowing more people to park closer
