Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth has defended doing a budget deal with Labour amid criticism they have bailed their rivals out. It emerged on Tuesday, December 9 that the two Senedd parties had done a deal so the £27bn Welsh Government budget for next year will pass when it is voted on in January.

As Labour only has 29 of the 30 Senedd members it needs support from elsewhere in the chamber to pass a budget. The budget, which totals some £27bn, funds devolved areas like the NHS , education and councils.
