A new transport hub on The Strand is being looked at as part of a wider plan to guide future development in Swansea from the waterfront to the very top of High Street. Improvements to the High Street railway station plaza, Swansea Market and Lower Oxford Street shopping arcades are also being considered.
A public transport hub on The Strand would orientate east towards the River Tawe – where several schemes are under way or planned – and be a stone’s throw from the railway station, whereas the city’s main bus station is just under a mile to the south west.
