BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The wings have been clipped for a proposed airport in Bryan County.

Bryan County commissioners voted 5-1 to suspend funding for the Richmond Hill-Bryan County Airport Authority.

Commissioners said after reviewing long-term community needs, current economic conditions don’t justify public investment in the proposed airport project.

The board will ask the local delegation to introduce state legislation to stop all Authority activities and related expenses. The legislation would include an option to revisit the project in the future.
