Now that Thanksgiving is over, we turn to that most wonderful time of the year: Christmastime. A time of gift giving (and receiving). A time of creating memories with loved ones.

For us Christians, it’s that time when we return to the story that is the foundation of our religion. You know the story. The nativity story. The story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Allow me to retell it here for those who may be unfamiliar. The story begins with an angel appearing to the Virgin Mary. The angel tells Mary that she is pregnant with the son of God, whom she shall name Jesus. Mary goes on to give birth to Jesus in a manger in Bethlehem because she and her husband, Joseph, could find nowhere else to stay.
