Aston Villa forward Evann Guessand has trained at Bodymoor Heath ahead of the Europa League match against FC Basel.
Guessand missed Villa’s 2–1 win over Arsenal on Saturday due to injury, but could now return to the squad for Thursday's match in Switzerland.
He has started all five of Villa’s Europa League matches so far this season and scored the opening goal against Go Ahead Eagles in October.
The Dutch side, however, staged a comeback to inflict a shock defeat on Villa, while Unai Emery’s team have won their other four games against Bologna, Feyenoord, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and BSC Young Boys.
Guessand made his first league start in three matches against Brighton last week, as Villa won 4–3 at the Amex.
After that match, and before Villa hosted Arsenal, Emery spoke about Guessand
