REMSEN, IA (KTIV) - Tuesday night featured a regular season girls basketball game between the Remsen St. Mary’s Hawks and the West Sioux Falcons.

But, there was much more to this matchup than basketball.

On Saturday, November 15th, the bus carrying the Remsen St. Mary’s girls team was involved in a serious accident at intersection of Highway 75, and County Road C-80, north of Sioux City.

The bus was stopped on C-80, and tried to make a left-hand turn onto Highway 75, to travel north. A jeep was headed south on Highway 75, the jeep and bus collided at the intersection.

Questions lingered about the upcoming season, until the girls took the court, on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

“It felt really good to be back on the basketball court today, but it felt just a piece of us was missing,” said Breeana
