'Poison pub' popular with locals left 43 diners with diarrhoea after Christmas meal View 4 Images

An unassuming quaint pub sent dozens of diners home feeling worse for wear after they were poisoned by its Christmas menu.

The shocking incident unfolded at a popular guest house pub in the small village of Llangynwyd, in south Wales, which has a glowing reputation amongst locals.

However, Public Health Wales confirmed that 43 people fell ill with food poisoning just hours after tucking into a Sunday lunch at the Corner House Inn .

The health body said multiple customers reported feeling sick and experiencing diarrhoea after eating at the pub, while an investigation discovered the illness was caused by a food poisoning organism called Clostridium perfringens, reports The Mirror .
