OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The bodyguard of boxing champion Terrence “Bud” Crawford filed a federal lawsuit against the city of Omaha and more than a dozen officers over a September traffic stop where he and others were ordered out of a vehicle at gunpoint.
Qasim Shabazz and two other passengers in Crawford’s vehicle filed the lawsuit Monday, claiming unconstitutional use of force and alleging discrimination. Crawford did not join the suit.
“It’s something that has to happen,” Shabazz said about the lawsuit, calling it a matter of accountability.

The September incident occurred when Crawford was pulled over for allegedly driving carelessly. Shabazz said they announced they had legal guns in the car when Crawford was stopped, but according to Omaha Police, the officer
