As hurricane season comes to a close, Royal Caribbean and other major cruise lines are expecting a surge in cruise passengers during the holiday season. However, with the increase in passengers comes the potential for security issues. Earlier in the year, back in March, we saw a Royal Caribbean guest screened with the worst banned item in Aruba . The passenger was sent to prison for the violation of carrying a revolver.
Now, a similar incident has taken place on the Liberty of the Seas . However, this story comes with a twist: the rule-breaker was a 69-year-old traveling with her grandson.
The incident led to an arrest in the Bahamas. The Oklahoma woman has now been released, but it came with a hefty cost, along with a GoFundMe campaign.
