The man who died in a double shooting at Kentucky State University has been identified as De'Jon Darrell Fox Jr., 19, of Indianapolis.

Fox was one of two students shot on the Frankfort campus shortly after 3 p.m. Dec. 9, 2025. The other student, who has not been identified, was airlifted to an area hospital and remains in stable but critical condition.

Jacob Lee Bard, 48, was arrested on preliminary charges of murder and first-degree assault . Police have characterized the shooting as an isolated incident.

Investigators haven't disclosed why Bard was on campus or what relationship, if any, he had with the two victims. He is the father of two KSU baseball players.
