LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Police have identified the body found near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus on Monday morning as 39-year-old Luke Perez.

Officers were called to the area of Vine Street and Antelope Valley Parkway shortly before 9 a.m. for a report of a man found dead.

The body was located just off the Billy Wolff Trail, at the end of a culvert under Antelope Valley Parkway.

LPD said Tuesday that an autopsy has been scheduled. They said Perez’s death is not considered suspicious, but his cause of death remains unknown.

Police are awaiting toxicology and pathology reports.
