Michigan State Police shot and killed 54-year-old Tuscola County man who fired at and wounded a trooper on Tuesday night, Dec. 9.
An MSP sergeant was shot in the hand, the MSP Third District said in a post on X on Dec. 10, and the 54-year-old Koylton Township man was pronounced dead at the scene, the post said.
Neither the sergeant who was injured nor the man who was killed were identified by MSP. Police did not say what type of firearm was used or how many shots were fired.
Personnel from the Michigan State Police Caro Post were sent to the Denhoff Road home southeast of the village of Kingston at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday "to pick up a 54-year-old man on a mental order that was signed by a judge," MSP said in the social media post.
