WHEELING, W.Va. — Wheeling University’s finances are in better shape and that’s been acknowledged by a key accreditation organization.
The university announced that it heard this week form the Higher Learning Commission that it has removed the school’s financial issue designation effective immediately.
HLC representatives visited the Wheeling campus last month.
“We appreciate the role of the Higher Learning Commission and its importance to higher education,” Wheeling University Board Chair David Hendrickson said on a statement posted on the universitiy’s website.
Wheeling President Dr. Dianna Vargo added, “We are grateful to our faculty, staff, students, Board of Trustees, and the Most Reverend Mark E. Brennan for their participation and continuous support of Wheeling University.”
