ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Georgia Power says it has struck a deal that could reduce the average customer’s monthly bill by at least $8.50 starting in 2028.

Georgia has been a magnet for data centers and other high-energy projects, with nearly 30 under construction or in the planning stage, according to Georgia Power’s November report. But under a new agreement with the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC), which regulates how much companies can charge for utilities, large-load customers would pay more, so the average Georgian can pay less.
