A stabbing at Boston Medical Center early Wednesday morning left one person with “life-threatening injuries,” according to police officials.

Boston police received a report of a stabbing around 2 a.m. at 850 Harrison Avenue, the address for Boston Medical Center. The victim was able to self-transport to the hospital, according to a police spokesman. Homicide detectives responded to the scene.

According to NBC10 Boston , the victim was a staff member at Boston Medical Center.

“The hospital is open and operating normally,” a Boston Medical Center spokesman told NBC10 Boston. “Boston Medical Center takes incidents such as these very seriously and the safety and well-being of our patients and staff are always our priority.”
