ROCKFORD, Ill. — A local woman has been found guilty after fake money was found in her home.
The Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office said 38-year-old Katherine Weinsheim was found guilty of forgery on Wednesday.
On Oct. 3, 2024, Rockford Police officers searched Weinsheim's home in the 2000 block of Santa Monica Drive with a warrant.
Weinsheim was not home when officers arrived, but she came home a little later. She was said to have been uncooperative and lied to officers.
During their search, officers found counterfeit money, a printer with a money-printing template, and printing paper throughout the master bedroom, bathroom, and closet.
Forgery is punishable by between 2 to 5 years in state prison, followed by six months of mandatory supervised release.
