At 2:11 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement until 5:15 p.m. for Montgomery, Schoharie, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster and Washington counties.
"With temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s, an additional coating up to 2' of snow is expected through the remainder of the afternoon and early evening for portions of the Mohawk Valley, Capital District, Helderbergs, Berkshires, and northern and central Taconics. Slippery travel conditions will be possible through the evening commute, especially on untreated surfaces," explains the weather service.
