MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), together with Gov. Tony Evers, announced Tuesday that Wisconsin drivers soon will be able to choose from two new specialty license plate designs . The new plates - a “Retro butter-yellow” design and a “Blackout” design - aim to offer a fresh look for cars across the state.

The Retro plate brings back the bright yellow design that many Wisconsinites remember from the 1970s. It features a butter-yellow background with bold black letters and numbers. Officials said the shade was carefully selected to match the nostalgic look of older plates.
