BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Members of the Bryan Firefighters Association marched from downtown Bryan to the municipal building Tuesday night, asking for city leaders to address ongoing safety concerns that union officials say have persisted for months despite repeated requests for action.
On the city side, the council met in executive session to receive legal advice regarding an agreement between the city and the firefighters’ union. However, the meeting agenda did not include public discussion of the safety issues raised by the association.
“We’re asking our city council, we’re asking our city management, to help us,” said Daniel Buford, president of the Bryan Firefighters Association.
Over the past few weeks, the union has raised concerns online about the availability of fire apparatuses
