Crews extinguish grass fire in west Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Fire Department said crews knocked down a fire east of Red Rock Canyon Wednesday afternoon.

The fire department said crews responded to the area of South 31st Street and Highway 24 around 2:40 p.m. to a 10-foot by 10-foot grass fire.

As of 3:03 p.m., the fire has been extinguished.

Fire crews reminded the community that although Colorado Springs has had recent snow, the city is still experiencing dry conditions.
