COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Evermore Family’s backyard isn’t just a place to play: it’s a training ground for big goals. Ropes, climbing holds, and ziplines fill the trees and the walls.

“In our house, we have certain rules,” Father Joe Evermore said. “One is that we ask the kids to climb something every day. So, that’s a big part of our culture and our home. And then we have one big mission each year starting when they’re five.”

Big missions like being the youngest American to reach the summit of the Matterhorn, or being the only two kids to ascend El Capitan in Yosemite National Park at eight years old.
