MEAD, Wash. - Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard park announced Wednesday it will delay its 2025-26 season opening due to weather.
"While the team has been prepared to open this weekend, a shift in temperatures and moisture has raised the snow level, and the forecast calls for a stretch of warm, wet weather," Mt. Spokane wrote in a press release.
Due to such weather conditions, the ski resort said that current snow on the mountain will not hold up appropriately.
"This is a tough hit for our team and for everyone eager to get back on the mountain," General Manager Jim van Loben Sels said. "Late December openings aren't unusual, and while it's a slow start, it does not mean we don't expect an exceptional winter."
Mt. Spokane said it would continue to monitor conditions and provide updates.
