FINCASTLE, Va. (WDBJ) - A homeowner in Fincastle was flown to a hospital Wednesday after being hurt in a house fire.

About 11 a.m. December 10, 2025, Fincastle Volunteer Fire was called about the fire in the 1400 block of Lees Gap Road. Fire crews were told the homeowner had re-entered the home “multiple times” to try to retrieve personal belongings.

Fire crews arrived to find the home “well-involved” in flames, but they say they got the fire under control quickly.

Additional units from Troutville Volunteer Fire Department and Botetourt County Department of Fire & EMS aided in extinguishing the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
