LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On Dec. 5 and Dec. 8, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Louisville intercepted three shipments containing counterfeit jewelry.
The packages arrived from Hong Kong and Taiwan. If authentic, the shipments would have had an estimated retail value of more than $18.6 million.
The first two shipments, which arrived from Hong Kong on Dec. 5, were addressed to a residence in Staten Island, New York, and another in Irving, Texas. Upon inspection, officers found 400 Cartier watches, 26 Moncler hats, and 30 Chrome Hearts hats in the first shipment. The second shipment contained eight Cartier and 13 Audemars Piguet watches.
The third shipment arrived from Taiwan on Dec. 8, addressed to Houston, Texas. It contained 80 Rolex Cosmograph watches and 80 Rolex Day-Date watc
