LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police said a breakthrough has been made in a 2025 homicide investigation following new DNA evidence.

The case involves the April 13, 2025, killing of Wayne Woods Sr., who was found inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds at 2000 block of W. Chestnut St. Officers responded that evening after a ShotSpotter alert was upgraded to a shooting.
Woods was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he was pronounced dead
Investigators said DNA evidence linked Andrew Jackson, 24, already in custody, to the case; he has been indicted on complicity to murder charges.
Jackson is scheduled for arraignment Monday, Dec. 15, and bond for the charge is set at $500,000,
