TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A Tucson small business owner turned the end of her business into holiday joy, donating hundreds of leftover toys to children in need as she closed her store for the last time.

Lorenia Fierros, owner of Astro Toys, donated 10 boxes and eight bags worth of toys to the Salvation Army just ahead of their holiday toy drive. The donation came just days before the holidays as Astro Toys closed for good.

“Retail’s changing a lot, a lot of people do, you know, tend to shop online or at bigger box stores so I think all of that together, you know, we kind of knew we weren’t gonna make it,” Fierros said.

Rather than let the toys go to waste, Fierros decided to donate them to families in need.
