Uber announced its entry into B2B logistics with the launch of Uber Direct in Bangalore, powered by the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). The company also rolled out metro ticketing on the Uber app in the city through ONDC.

Uber said the launches strengthen its efforts to expand multi-service offerings across India by building on digital public infrastructure to provide connected mobility and commerce solutions.

According to the company, Uber Direct differs from its consumer-facing delivery option, Uber Courier. While Uber Courier is booked directly by customers on the app, Uber Direct functions as a logistics engine for businesses.
