CLEVELAND — The MetroHealth System Board of Trustees has approved a three-year contract extension for President and CEO Dr. Christine Alexander-Rager, finally bringing some stability to the hospital's chief executive role.
Alexander-Rager's term as CEO had been due to expire next month before the board voted unanimously Tuesday to keep her in the position through January of 2029. Alexander-Rager was originally named acting president and CEO in July of 2024 before being given the job on a permanent basis that October.
"Dr. Alexander-Rager has earned the full support and confidence of our Board by continuing to do what she's done for her entire 28-year career at MetroHealth: build trust, provide stability and make the best possible decisions for our patients, caregivers and community,"
