SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - He’s a high school football coach but means much more than that to his students.

This week’s WTOC Top Teacher is Matt Lezotte from Richmond Hill High School.

Lezotte tries to train his students for success. He teaches weight training and is the head football coach at Richmond Hill.

“You don’t settle for anything less than their best effort,” said Lezotte. “They see that and they do that and they see the results on the back end.”

Lezotte grew up in Augusta but is in his 11th year at Richmond Hill. He says he loves it here.

“I love interacting with the kids,” said Lezotte. “I love being somewhat responsible for helping to shape and mold 15,16,17, and 18-year-olds. So society doesn’t have to fix 27, 28 and 29-year-olds. You continue to demand excellence and don’t b
