If you ever wanted to experience a vibrant, intriguing fantasy world stripped of all its color and personality, Netflix's live-action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender had you covered. Like with the last crack at bringing Avatar to live action, a pursuit that continues to get money thrown at it despite being a self-evidently ridiculous proposal, I and many others assumed that underwhelming first season would be the end of it. Pull the funding, sweep those sequel hooks under the rug, pretend it never happened until you try again in another decade.
