A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Wednesday at 10:27 p.m. for heavy snow until 11:30 p.m. for Chenango, Otsego, Broome, Delaware and Sullivan counties.
"At 10:26 p.m., a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from Unadilla to near Shunk and moving southeast at 25 MPH," according to the weather service.
Locations impacted by the alert include Rockland, Binghamton, Falls, Vestal, Johnson City, Carbondale, Kirkwood, Vernon, Conklin and Clarks Summit.
The weather service comments, "Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
