Sault topped Ishpeming Westwood 42-35 in its opener and the Patriots then edged Munising 35-30.

“We were kind of sleepy against Munising,” Braves’ coach Ryan Harrenstein said. “Although, their kids wrestled very hard which is what we wanted to see.”

The Braves led Munising 30-18 after Nate Beauchamp pinned Orrin Shalen 84 seconds into the 150-pound bout.

Munising won the 157 weight class on a forfeit and Brady Johns (165) pinned Nick Proehl in 3:50 to tie the score at 30.

Tanner Thorbahn, Ryder Forvilly and Ben Wilson added pins in the last three bouts to seal the verdict.
