Kingsford’s boys edged the Braves 111-104 and Manistique finished with 74 points.
The Kingsford girls scored 146 points, followed by
“Kingsford has a very good team and they swam very well,” Braves’ coach Tom Desy said. “The boys’ team, for the second meet in a row, was very close to the top. We had a couple boys that did not make the meet, and maybe that would have made the difference. But that’s the way it goes sometimes. The boys swam well with a number of them trying different events than they swam before.”
Freshman Jake Lanaville won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:27.45, edging Kingsford’s Thomas Gibbons by slightly more than a half-second, helped the Braves win the 200 freestyle relay and placed fourth in 100 butterfly (1:14.61), a qualifying time for the
