JASPER, Texas — Food insecurity continues to grow across Southeast Texas, particularly in rural areas where access to fresh groceries is increasingly limited. The Southeast Texas Food Bank is partnering with organizations in Jasper County and beyond to help meet that need, supported by more than $157,000 in community donations raised so far.
At the Jasper Food Bank, home to the Greater Jasper Share Food Pantry, demand has surged. What once served 250 families a month now provides food for more than 700 families.
“We have so many people in need,” facility manager Irma Dahlquist said.
